Notice of Annual Business Meeting and Proposed Bylaws Revisions – 2025
The Annual Business Meeting of the Desert Tortoise Council will be held in a hybrid format (i.e., in person and virtually) in conjunction with the 50th Annual Desert Tortoise Council Symposium. The business meeting will be held at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada. Click the button below for the meeting agenda. All Council members and guests are invited to attend the Annual Business Meeting. The Board of Directors will provide a summary of accomplishments over the past year, and report on the financial status of the organization. There will be an election of officers. All Council members in good standing are eligible to vote even if not registered for the symposium. In addition, the Board of Directors has recommended several revisions to the Bylaws of the Desert Tortoise Council to be voted on by the general membership during the Annual Business Meeting. Proposed revisions to the bylaws include clarification of the authorities of the Board Chairperson to authorize expenditure of funds in emergency situations without prior Board approval, and that the Board Chairperson assumes the duties of any officer or committee chairperson that is unable to meet their responsibilities. Various corrections to grammar and phrasing are also proposed. The proposed revisions to the Council’s bylaws are provided in track change and can be reviewed via the button below.
