Registration

Registration for the 44th Annual Symposium is now open via our Wild Apricot portal. Early-bird registration rates are good through January 22, 2019 and will increase afterward. The registration fee includes 2 continental breakfasts (Friday and Saturday); 2 refreshment breaks; a mixer on Wednesday evening, sponsored by SNEI, that includes heavy hors d’oeurves; and on Friday evening a dinner buffet and no-host bar banquet. Please remember to renew your membership dues at this time to be eligible to receive the member registration rate.

When planning your travel for the annual Symposium, please note that the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is generously offering free admission to Symposium attendees and their guests on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

Transportation

The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle. Estimates for ground transportation costs between the airport and hotel are as follows:

Raffle & Auction Donations

A raffle/auction is held at the Annual Symposium as a fundraiser so the Council can continue to expand its conservation efforts for the tortoise. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. The DTC would like to encourage the donation of appropriate items in support of our fundraising efforts.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations must be received three weeks prior to the Symposium for a refund minus a $20 handling fee.
  • Less than three weeks prior to the Symposium, 75% of the registration fees are forfeit.
  • Email to email hidden; JavaScript is required is sufficient to request cancellation of registration.
  • If the registrant sends a replacement under his/her registration less than three weeks prior to the Symposium, there will be a $20 extra handling charge.

The Annual Meeting of the Desert Tortoise Council will be held at 6:00-6:45 p.m. in the Sonoran Ballroom on February 20, 2019 at the Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa
in Tucson, Arizona.

Funds are available for students who are giving papers and require support for travel.
