The Desert Tortoise Council is pleased to announce the 2018 Photo Contest to be held at the Annual Symposium on February 23-25, 2018 at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Each year we encourage our membership to submit their best wildlife and nature photographs for a chance to win cash prizes, as well as to aid the Desert Tortoise Council in educating the public and advocating desert conservation through photography.
Each entry must be submitted in two formats: mounted print and high quality digital photographs. Entries may be black and white or color photographs, and must have been taken by the contestant. The contestant must be a registered attendee of the 2018 Symposium.
Mounted prints must be matted. NO GLASS FRAMES, please. There is no size restriction for mounted prints. All prints/photos must be labeled with the following information placed on the back: entry category; common and scientific name (for flora and fauna subjects); location; date photo was taken; and contestant’s name, address, and phone number. Please do not place your name on the front of the print/photo. Photograph titles and dates are acceptable but not required. Mounted prints may be mailed to Joe Probst at: 36431 41st Street East, Palmdale, California 93552, or brought to the Symposium. Mailed submissions must be received by February 9, 2018. Those brought to the Symposium must be provided to Joe Probst before noon on Friday, February 23.

In the body of the email, include the following information about the photo: entry category; common and scientific name (for flora and fauna subjects); location; date photo was taken; and contestant’s name, address, and phone number. Please also indicate in the email whether or not your mounted print may be entered into the Auction, with proceeds going to the DTC.
